Corporate Staffing Upholstery Technician Job

Our client in the Furniture Industry is seeking an experienced upholstery technician who will be responsible for restoring, repairing, and enhancing upholstered furniture pieces and products. He will be tasked with the following responsibilities in accordance with the best practices of the industry.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Assess and Evaluate Furniture pieces for Restoration or repair needs.
  • Select appropriate fabrics or materials for reupholstering furniture based on durability, colour, pattern and texture.
  • Upholstery installation and assembly by ensuring proper alignment and symmetry of fabric.
  • Customize furniture pieces according to specific design preferences or requirements.
  • Incorporate decorative elements or decorative stitching to enhance the aesthetic appeal of furniture.
  • Identify and Rectify any defects or inconsistencies in workmanship to meet the company quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, regulations, standards and procedure to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance of upholstery equipment to ensure durability and efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or certification in business administration, industrial management, or related field from a recognized institution or vocational training in upholstery preferred.
  • At least 2 years Proven experience as an Upholstery Worker or similar role preferably in a Furniture/ manufacturing industry.
  • Physical dexterity and strength to perform manual tasks and lift heavy furniture pieces.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship.
