Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Representative to join their team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid technical background in mechanical engineering or metallurgy, combined with proven sales experience. The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying potential clients, engaging with them to understand their needs, and effectively closing deals to drive our business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to target key markets in the Cement, Mining, and Sugar Industries across East Africa.
  • Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and engage with potential clients through cold calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Provide technical consultations and presentations to clients on the company’s products and services, demonstrating how they meet the client’s needs.
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure a thorough understanding of the product portfolio and its applications within the targeted industries.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, including negotiation of terms and contracts.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network with potential clients and stay updated on market trends.
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales reports and forecasts for management, highlighting sales performance, potential challenges, and market opportunities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through post-sale support and handling of any issues or concerns that arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably within the Cement, Mining, or Sugar Industry.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be willing to travel extensively across East Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda, with the possibility of covering additional countries.
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive training program in South Africa for 2 weeks.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to grasp complex product knowledge and technical details.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a flair for engaging and building relationships with clients.
  • Highly motivated and target-driven, with a proven track record of achieving sales quotas.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
