Avenue Healthcare Radiology Unit Manager Job

Job Objective/ Purpose:

Planning, Organizing, and coordinating all the activities in Radiology unit, to ensure quality Radiology services, in line with the Hospital protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

People Management:

  • Supervisee Radiology team in delivering individual and team targets by ensuring the delivery of professional and high standard of service within radiology unit.
  • Prepares monthly work schedules (ROTA) and ensure efficient use of overtimes and locums.
  • Provide leadership, ensuring staff development, engagement, performance, and ensure monthly staff meetings with documented evidence.
  • Ensure the unit is financially viable and demonstrate growth through;
    • Managing Radiology costs within budget through appropriate staffing, managing incidences, and proper consumable management.
    • Offering quality care to patients and ensuring good relationship with stakeholders and client satisfaction, following up on their feedback,
    • Improving the unit’s effectiveness and efficiency through reduction of wastage and duplication, through monitoring and innovation.

Radiology Services

  • Coordinates with radiologists on the imaging standards, and with clinicians on radiology findings and progress
  • Ensure proper and timely documentation and maintenance of imaging records, patient records and tests results while maintaining confidentiality
  • Ensure implementation of SOPs and QIPs in the unit, including infection prevention and incident reporting.
  • Ensure radiation safety within the facility for both staff and patients.
  • Equipment and Supplies Management: Ensure proper inventory, standardization, calibration, and maintenance on all imaging equipment.
  • Ensure adequate knowledge of, and compliance to all Avenue Healthcare policies, procedures, and systems, especially policies pertaining to the provision of medical services.
  • Ensure that Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies are adhered to, including preventing, detecting, and reporting any fraud or criminal activities, and Implementing audit recommendations. 

Person Specification

  • Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or Medical Imaging Sciences
  • Registration with the radiation and Protection Board
  • 3+ years’ experience in a related position.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team playing abilities, and communication skills.
  • Highly responsive, ethical and responsible
