We are looking to hire an electrician to join our team. Reporting to the Estate Manager, the Electricians’ day-to-day duties will include ground maintenance roles as assigned by the Head of Grounds. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe operation of all building systems and adhere to safety regulations.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Perform regular and scheduled inspections on all electrical fittings and equipment and report any faults to the Estate Manager
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components by inspecting various electrical components, and testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical fittings, wiring, and lighting systems
• Repairing and replacing faulty electrical equipment and related fixtures
• Work with utility companies to maintain power lines for timely clearing of tree branches and debris
• Reading and interpreting technical diagrams and blueprints for recommendation as needed
• Identifying and mitigating safety hazards
• Basic outdoor cabling on tents, and/or connection of the school Public Address System during school events.
• Adhering to the School’s Safety Policy and Local building regulations
• Maintaining electrical fittings stock lists and ensuring timely replenishment by raising requisitions through the Estate manager

• The ideal candidate is good at problem-solving, has attention to detail, and is proactive with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Minimum Artisan in Electrical Installation/Electrical Wiring
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience
