MGN Kenya Tax Associate Job

Gross Salary: Ksh 50,000

Our client is seeking to hire a tax associate.

  • File clients’ tax documents, including quarterly payments, extensions and tax returns.
  • Recommend new strategies based on new taxation laws on the local, state or national level.
  • Maintain proper documentation for interpreting and reviewing changes in the law.
  • Streamline procedures and offer recommendations on how the tax filing process can run more efficiently.
  • Prepare complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
  • Perform review of individual tax returns prepared by junior tax staff or interns.
  • Serve as a technical resource for junior tax staff and interns.
  • May have the opportunity to work on estate, gift, trust and international tax returns.
  • Conduct basic and complex tax research.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to conduct tax planning for individual, corporate, partnership, estate, gift, trust and international tax clients.
  • Review national, state and local tax notices and drafts responses.
  • Carry out delegated audits and Tax filling.
  • Hands-on experience with iTax.
  • Ability to prepare tax computations, tax returns, filing, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports.
  • Knowledge of the Tax Laws.
  • Ability to conduct basic and complex tax research.
  • Experience in bookkeeping/accounting process.
  • Ability to carry out audits.
  • Experience in Microsoft excel and word.
  • Time management and organizational skills to meet client and tax compliance deadlines.
  • Ability to produce quality work with quick turnaround.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to client service while building positive working relationships. 
  • Comfortable conducting presentations in workshops, seminars and training sessions to both internal and external audiences.

  • A Bachelor’s degree /Diploma from a recognized university (Accounting Option is preferable)
  • Professional accounting qualifications: ACCA/CPA 
  • At least three (3) years’ professional experience working in tax department.
