We are looking for an intelligent and strong candidate in or her body, mind, and character to deploy or as a Retail Visual Merchandizer & Product Strategist

The Retail Visual Merchandizer & Product Strategist will be pivotal in enhancing the product presentation and strategic product positioning within our retail environments. This role encompasses comprehensive responsibilities from product strategy development, market research, and visual merchandising to advising management on product selection and sales strategies.

  • Retail Product Placement: Advise management on trending products to prioritize for display and promotion.
  • Retail Product Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market and competitor analysis to identify and introduce top-selling products.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize resource use, maintain a competitive edge, and improve sales through effective pricing, distribution, and promotional tactics.
  • Business Positioning: Educate team members about our retail products to enhance sales performance by highlighting product features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Data Management: Enter and manage data in databases, keeping accurate records of potential products relevant to our business model.
  • Product Concept Creation: Generate new product concepts that align with and elevate the company’s brand. Focus on developing Laomai and other company-specific brands.
  • Product Development Oversight: Collaborate with product development teams to ensure products are designed according to the roadmap, providing feedback and guidance throughout the process.
  • Product Performance Evaluation: Analyze product performance, devising strategies to manage slow-moving inventory.
  • Packaging and Branding: Oversee the packaging design of company products to enhance brand image and support sales objectives.
  • Visual Merchandising: Design and implement engaging displays, collaborate with store management on merchandising strategies and maintain high standards of presentation.

Shop Management Duties:

  • Business Strategy Development: Formulate strategies to increase customer base, store traffic, and profitability. Achieve sales targets through effective team training and motivation.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional service levels to foster customer satisfaction.
  • Store Administration: Manage store operations, adhering to company policies and maintaining visual merchandising standards.
  • Market Insight: Report on market trends, and customer preferences, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance market share.
  • Performance Management: Conduct staff appraisals, identify training needs, and support career development.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Perform any additional duties as required by management.
  • Responsible for budget management and direct reports.
  • Degree in Sales and Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Beauty, Health, and Wellness industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of retail products, especially in Beauty, Wellness, and Health.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in English and Swahili, with excellent planning, coordination, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail.
  • High adaptability with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
