About Our Client

Our client is a well-established hotel in Nairobi, known for providing excellent hospitality services to both local and international guests. They are seeking a skilled accountant to join their team and contribute to the financial management of their operations.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our client’s hotel. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely payments
• Assist in budget preparation and monitoring
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits
• Provide financial reports and analysis to management
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Assist in cost control measures and financial forecasting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• At least 2 years of accounting experience specifically in a 3-star hotel setting
• Proficiency in hotel accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of hospitality industry financial practices
• Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and accounting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
