Senior Manager – Long Term Applications Job Jubilee Insurance

Role Purpose

  • The role holder will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, operational execution, corporate governance, and leadership of the Long-Term Business Applications within the organization. This role will involve managing a team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving innovation to enhance the organization’s long term business application portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

 Functional

  • Proficiency in Oracle Apex development and comprehensive experience in managing Oracle DB 19c.
  • Understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and hands-on experience in database administration, tuning, ad optimization.
  • Ability to design and develop scalable application architectures and maintain their high availability.
  • Strong knowledge of integrating applications with third-party services using APIs, web services, and middleware technologies.
  • Experience in leading Agile teams, managing standups, and facilitating sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Skills in developing data models, creating ETL pipelines, and enabling data-driven insights.
  • In-depth experience in designing BI dashboards using tools such as Oracle BI, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Solid understanding of IT audit requirements, risk assessments, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, GDPR).

Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for long-term business applications, aligning it with the organization’s overall objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in long-term business applications to enhance business performance.
  • Conduct market research and stay updated with industry trends to anticipate future needs and technology advancements.

Operational

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the long-term business applications, ensuring efficient and effective performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement processes, workflows, and best practices for application development and maintenance.
  • Monitor application performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize operations.

Corporate Governance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to long-term business applications.
  • Implement and maintain robust governance frameworks, including risk management and data privacy measures.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to address any legal or regulatory issues concerning long-term business applications.

Leadership & Culture

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the team responsible for long-term business applications.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Mentor and develop team members, encouraging their professional growth and enhancing their technical skills.

Academic Background & Relevant Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Certifications in Oracle Apex Developer Certification, Oracle Database 19c Administrator, Project Management
  • Professional (PMP), or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native services such as Oracle Autonomous Database, Azure SQL Database, or AWS RDS.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure
  • Administrator, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect, or similar are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in application management, with a focus on long-term business applications.
  • Experience in managing regulatory compliance and corporate governance related to applications.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving innovation in application development and maintenance.
