Consultant Neurologist Job AKU

Responsibilities

To provide quality neurology services to both outpatients and inpatients.

He/she will be expected to be an active member of the healthcare team at the hospital and contribute to the hospital’s continuing professional development programs. 

You will be responsible to:

• perform and supervise neurology diagnostic procedures, including lumbar puncture and direct fundoscopy
• interpret and conduct nerve conduction studies (NCS) and needle electromyography (EMG)
• interpret evoked potentials, EEG (electroencephalogram) recordings, including prolonged video EEG monitoring, and possess proficiency in polysomnography interpretation skills
• provide preliminary interpretations of neuroimaging scans for common neurological conditions, particularly in emergency situations
• lead efforts to enhance Neurology services within the hospital and its outreach centers
• engage in teaching and mentoring of junior doctors.

Requirements

You should have:

• Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized university fellowship in Neurology with interest and expertise in comprehensive modern epilepsy management the successful candidate will be required to provide a lead in neurology services and collaborations in research.
