We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The role involves strategic planning, project execution, team management, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Construction Manager will be responsible for coordinating various stakeholders, managing budgets, mitigating risks, and ensuring timely project delivery while maintaining efficiency and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Strategy
- Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure project specifications meet requirements.
- Establish procurement plans for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Develop and implement construction methodologies that align with best practices and industry standards.
Construction Execution & Site Management
- Lead and oversee day-to-day construction activities on-site.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to the construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any emerging challenges.
- Ensure strict adherence to construction schedules, adjusting plans when necessary to mitigate delays.
- Manage permits, approvals, and compliance with zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes.
Budget & Cost Management
- Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure financial control and cost efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Approve invoices, manage contract negotiations, and oversee vendor relationships.
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
- Enforce construction safety regulations and ensure all workers comply with health and safety standards.
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure construction meets required specifications and durability standards.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations when necessary.
- Work closely with safety officers to implement site-specific safety training programs.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the primary liaison between the company, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain strong communication with project owners, ensuring their expectations are met.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones and challenges.
- Resolve conflicts and disputes that arise among project teams or external partners.
Risk Assessment & Problem-Solving
- Identify potential risks related to project delays, budget overruns, and resource shortages.
- Develop proactive solutions to mitigate risks and ensure continuous workflow.
- Address technical and operational challenges with innovative and practical solutions.
- Ensure business continuity by implementing contingency plans in case of unforeseen disruptions.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Recruit, train, and manage construction staff, including project managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
- Foster a strong work culture focused on teamwork, efficiency, and accountability.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance to improve team productivity.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and workplace regulations.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in construction management, project management, or site supervision.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
- Extensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, safety protocols, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera, MS Project, Procore, or BIM tools).
- Strong financial management skills with experience in budgeting, cost estimation, and contract negotiation.
- Familiarity with regulatory and environmental laws, zoning regulations, and labor laws.
