ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT, CASH MANAGEMENT (KET 7) ONE (1) POSITION REF: KET/5/1C/40/228/VOL I – B (02/2025) ON PERMANENT & PENSIONABLE TERMS

Reporting to the Accountant, Treasury

Job purpose

  • This Job is responsible for projecting and monitoring of the Company’s cash position, and coordination of daily update of cash ledgers.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Disbursing and recording all of the organisation’s petty cash transactions
  • Cheque printing/writing
  • Collecting and delivering of bank correspondence
  • Preparation of daily petty cash reports
  • Receipting and banking of all cash received
  • Keeping safe custody of cash office records and accountable documents
  •  Maintaining the daily system Foreign Exchange rates
  • Preparation of cash reimbursement request
  • Preparation of monthly and year end cash count certificate

Minimum Qualifications & Skills required

  • Diploma in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business or related field from a recognized institution
  • Certified Public Accountant, CPA – Part II or ACCA Part II;
  • A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience.

  • Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
  • Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
  • Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
  • Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
