Purpose

We’re seeking a skilled female cook to join our team in Nairobi! If you’re over 30 years old, reside in Nairobi, and identify as a Kikuyu lady, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Designing menus based on available ingredients, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences.
• Preparing ingredients and cooking meals according to recipes and standards.
• Skillfully cooking a variety of dishes, including traditional Kenyan cuisine and international fare.
• Ensuring that meals are presented attractively and appetizingly.
• Adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards to prevent foodborne illnesses.
• Monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
• Managing food costs effectively within budget constraints.
• Working closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service.
• Ensuring that all dishes meet quality standards and are consistent in taste and appearance.
• Being able to adjust recipes and cooking techniques based on ingredient availability and customer preferences.
• Providing excellent customer service, including accommodating special requests and dietary needs.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Working efficiently to meet mealtime deadlines and manage multiple orders.
• Effectively communicating with kitchen staff, supervisors, and customers as needed.
• Staying updated on culinary trends, techniques, and innovations through ongoing training and education.

Requirements

• Diploma in Food and Beverages, Catering or any other related field
• Must be over 30 years old
• Reside in Nairobi
• Identify as a Kikuyu lady
• Proven experience in cooking a variety of dishes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and passion for food quality
• Excellent time management skills
