What You Need to Know About G4S Management Trainee Program

After graduating or clearing school we all desire to get absorbed into a top company as a graduate trainee or intern to prepare us for the corporate world and put into effect what we learnt in class.

G4S Kenya is one of the companies that offer a graduate management trainee program.

Their graduate management trainee program (GMTP) is aimed at identifying suitable candidates in a range of disciplines to help drive the company’s Risk Management business, Operations Divisions and support functional roles like Finance, Human Resources and IT among others.

The program seeks Kenyan graduates through an online application process after which the candidates are screened and taken through a rigorous interview process and a range of qualitative and quantitative assessments alongside reference investigations.

Successful candidates are inducted into the two year management trainee program. They receive extensive training on operational and management development courses that enable them carry out and understand front-line work whilst equipping them with the requisite skills to become skilled and effective managers.

“After the two year training stint, the trainees are listed within the company succession plan. Depending on their capability they will either be fast-tracked to the Management Advanced Program or continue to progress within the business”, said Epimach Maritim, G4S Human Resources and Change Director.

Course attendance also gives trainees the opportunity to meet managers from other parts of the business, share experiences and network with colleagues.

The program follows the following phases:-induction phase, initial generalist training phase, operational placement phase and first line manager placement phase.

To join the GMTP, applicants are expected to have attained a first degree not earlier than 2 years from the date of application with a second class honours upper division and above from a recognized university; or are expecting to graduate with a first degree second class honours upper division and above having completed their course work.

To take part in this opportunity you should possess excellent communication skills both written and oral, have excellent IS skills and show evidence of holding positions of responsibility – can be at school, university or in employment.

The last time they hired was in May 2014 so before they hire again up your skills ready for their next program.
