NLC GRADE 6 (1) POST
This position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of programmes and projects the directorate has set in regards to natural resources management.
Gross Salary Scale for The position of Senior Natural Resource Officers (Min Kshs. 90,000 – Max Kshs. 130,000)

Duties for the Senior Natural Resources Officer Job

  • Coordinate data entry and analysis of relevant information for informed planning and decision-making
  • Prepare technical reports relating to the Commission’s Natural Resources Management mandate.
  • Participate in stakeholder forums and meetings.
  • Conduct natural Resources monitoring and assessments.
  • Perform stakeholder liaison and coordination roles
  • supervise and appraise the natural resource officers
  • Verify and document stakeholder issues and concerns regarding natural resources management.
  • Undertake report writing for the directorate.

Senior Natural Resources Officer Job Requirements

For Appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Natural Resources Management, Biological Sciences, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, urban or regional planning or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution
  • Must have served in Natural Resources Management position in the public or private sector for at least five (5) years.
  • Computer literacy especially in data analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislations and standards
  • Knowledge of professional standards
  • Proven application of remote sensing and GIS applications in natural resources assessments and environmental management
  • Proven skills in natural resources/environmental monitoring and assessments
  • Effective stakeholder and resources mobilization skills
  • Excellent Report writing and communication skills
