Duma Works is recruiting for a Head Chef position for one of our clients. We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organise the kitchen’s activities.

You will be the first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they sent to the customer, ensuring high quality and contentment.

Chef Job Responsibilities

• Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
• Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
• Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer
• Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
• Assist Management in hiring, managing and training kitchen staff – including casual staff when required.
• Oversee the work of subordinates
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations with regards to food handling.
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers

Requirements for the Chef Job

• Proven experience as Head Chef
• Must have demonstrable work experience in cooking for large groups in the range of 1000 people.
• Must have experience in cooking Indian Cuisine, as well as Local and Continental cuisine
• Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes

Salary Expectations are dependent on the calibre and experience of the Head Chef:

Ksh 90,000/- – Ksh120,000/- gross consolidated salary.
