Trattoria Kitchen Steward/Cleaner Jobs Kenya

REPORTING TO: House Keeper
DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage

The Kitchen Steward shall be responsible for ensuring general cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas and equipment.

Kitchen Steward/Cleaner Job Responsibilities

  • Washing and polishing all kitchen equipment, cooking utensils and ensuring cleanliness before distribution;
  • Placing all cleaned items in the appropriate storage areas or distributing to various outlets;
  • Washing, disinfecting, degreasing, drying and polishing all floor surfaces, walls, kitchen equipment, extract vents, ceilings and other equipment before, during and after each meal service and when required;
  • Recording and reporting all breakages that may occur within shift(s);
  • Emptying bins, cleaning and returning empty bins to their appropriate locations; and
  • Performing any other duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications for the Kitchen Steward/Cleaner Job

Appointment to this position will be made from persons who have:

  • Certificate in Kitchen Operation Techniques or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • KCSE C-(minus) or its equivalent; and
  • At least one (1) year working experience in a comparable/similar position.
  • Age 20-25 Years

Key Competencies

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Have the ability to work under minimal supervision;
  • Ability to operate dishwashing machines;
  • Good working knowledge of detergents; and
  • Be a team player.
