HR Officer Job at Mission Aviation Fellowship

Mission Aviation Fellowship is a not-for-profit, Christian organisation whose mission is to reach isolated communities through aviation. In Kenya we fly small aircraft to assist Mission organisations, Churches and Relief agencies in providing humanitarian and spiritual sustenance to isolated people.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a team that will have a life changing impact on those we serve. MAF is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self -motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Human Resource Officer at our office at Wilson Airport in Nairobi.

The primary purpose of the position is to provide all Human Resource support services for MAF Kenya by providing guidance and assistance on all human resource policies and practices. The HR Officer is responsible for participating in the implementation, oversight and recording of all elements of staff management, ensuring full legal and organisational compliance.

HR Officer Job Responsibilities

  • To support the Managers with recruitment and induction activities.
  • To support the Managers with implementation of performance Management.
  • To oversee staff well-being.
  • To provide generalist HR services to managers by ensuring the Programme is legally compliant with local employment law.
  • To manage the HR administration and local HR specialists effectively.
  • To participate in the spiritual life of MAF.
  • Other reasonable responsibilities as may be required by your line manager.

Qualifications for the HR Officer Job

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent qualification. (Essential)
    Membership to a HR body (Essential)
  • Good spoken and written English (Essential)
  • Good up to date knowledge of Kenya Labour Laws (Essential)
  • A minimum of (5) five years’ relevant work experience in a Human Resource role. (Essential)
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Experience in event management.
