Kenya has over 40 private and public universities but a few specialize in teaching business courses.
According to Ms. Esther Kamau, a professional career coach at Corporate Staffing Services, job seekers in Kenya  struggle to get jobs in some fields they studied for.
She affirms that some universities are known for producing business professionals in the country.
Here is a list of best universities in Kenya to study business so as to stand out in the competitive field.

1. Strathmore University
Strathmore is no doubt one of the leading private universities in Kenya that priduces the best Business gradautes.
Since its inception in 1961 as the first multi-racial, multi-religious Advanced-level Sixth Form College offering Science and Arts subjects, the university has proved to be the best in the region.
It was recently ranked number 44 in Africa by The Times Higher Education World University.
Also, Strathmore University was ranked the top private university in Kenya in 2015 Webometrics System of Ranking Universities.
When it comes to courses, Strathmore University is known to produce the best finance and accounting graduates.
2.University of Nairobi
UoN offers a 4-year degree in Business Administration whose admission varies according to the joint admission board.
In addition to the bachelor’s degree, the university has a master’s programme. The programme offers advanced training in employment relations, database systems, public relations and others courses that can see you apply for senior roles in administration.

3. Maseno University
The institution offers business administration courses at the school of Business and Economics.
Here, you study Bachelor of Business Administration for 4 years with an opportunity of 7 specializations at your 3rd and 4th year at school.
The minimum requirements to pursue this course is a Mean Grade of C+ with C (plain) in Mathematics; or C (plain) with a Diploma of Maseno University or other recognized institutions; or C plain with CPA Part II (for BBA, with IT).
Also applicants with CPA II are eligible for credit transfer for certain Year 1 courses.

To qualify for admission, you must have a C+ in KCSE to be admitted for Business Administration at TUM, Division II, a two-year certificate from a reputable institution, or Pre-university college certificate or a diploma in business-related field to apply for admission.

5. Daystar University

To pursue a degree in Business Administration at Daystar University, you must have a minimum of C+ in KCSE in and specifically a C in maths.
Alternatively, according to the university specifications, you must have five credits in IGCSE, division two in GCE or 2 principal passes in “A” level for you to be admitted.
The degree course takes 4 years to complete.

Most employers prefer Bachelor of Commerce graduates from KCA University because of the quality training they receive which gives them an edge over other graduates.
