Many of us wake up in the morning and do the same thing over and over again. Go to school/work, go home and the cycle never ends. All this we do without any positive attitude. We do it just to complete the task at hand.
But have you ever asked yourself why so many people just accept this pattern as normal, as if this is the way it is supposed to be?
I came across an interesting article written by Declan OFlaherty that guides one on how to create a positive attitude and which will help you make your life better and more productive.
1. Remember that you are powerful
We are far more powerful than we think we are. Many times we give excuses for mistakes done or things we failed to do for not searching deep inside ourselves to realize our abilities.
2. Embrace life.
Many times we despair when faced with obstacles, we complain and feel that life is very unfair. You know what?, Embrace every moment of it because that is part of life and you cannot escape it.
Stop fussing over small matters and start focusing on what’s really important to you.
The author advises that, “Be bold and courageous, and make decisions that benefit your growth. Put yourself on your imaginary death-bed and realize that time stands still for no one. Start as soon as possible to make any necessary changes you may need to.”
3. Realize that you get to control your reactions
What you think and what you believe about yourself affects who you are. If for example you report to work and notice the nice things your workmates have and start thinking that your life is meaningless, then that’s what it will be.
“We all have problems, and we’re often tested by circumstances outside of our control. Even though you may not be in control of what’s going on outside of you, you most definitely can control your reaction to those situations,” notes Declan OFlaherty
4. No one is better qualified than you
People will have opinions about who you are, they even offer solutions to things that do not concern them they even seem to know what you are doing wrong in your life.
“Stop identifying with other people’s opinions and become aware of how you see yourself. Nobody knows you better than you do. Never accept another person’s reality as your own. Always believe that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. And, most importantly, never let another person’s opinion of you affect what you believe about yourself,” Declan OFlaherty advices
5. Love yourself
Finally the most important step in to helping create a positive attitude is loving yourself, nobody will appreciate who you are if in the first place you are always criticizing yourself and complaining of how you are not well off or beautiful like somebody you know.
Declan OFlaherty emphases that, “Be yourself. Love yourself completely and accept everything that you are. You are beautiful. Believe it, and most importantly, remind yourself often,”
We all need to be positive about life or we will end up living like zombies, a life without a mission or a vision, just living in a pattern that has been created for us. Well it’s time each one of us used these tips to enrich our life with positive attitude.
