Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRISK) is a collective management organisation licensed by the Kenya Copyright Board to represent performers in musical and dramatic works. PRISK is hence a performer works licensing company appointed as a collecting society under GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 12322. PRISK is a non-profit company limited by guarantee, and not having a share capital.

PRISK Board of Directors (BOD) is seeking to recruit a dynamic, exceptional and visionary leader of professional and ethical standing to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will execute the mandate of the Board. He/she will be reporting to the Board of Directors and be responsible for overseeing all strategic, operational and financial performance of the organization through effective management.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of directors, the Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Society operations. Specific duties shall include;

  • Co-ordination of the Society activities to ensure optimum and efficient utilization of all Society assets and resources.
  • Ensure implementation of and adherence to the society policies, procedures and standards
  • Management of the day to day  affairs of the society in a competent manner
  • Ensure recruitment  of competent and qualified personnel on need basis
  • Supervision of all members of staff in head office and various branches
  • Setting up performance management system and evaluation of staff performance
  • Manage the Society’s budget ensuring spending is in line with overall budget
  • Monitor key performance areas and ensure all targets are met
  • Review and implement regulations, internal systems, structures, procedures and controls to improve the quality of service
  • Implementation of the Society’s Strategic plan, policies and business plans
  • Manage the collection portfolio in collaboration with other mandated CMOs and provide reports to the Board of directors.
  • Attend all board of Directors meetings and offer technical and professional advice
  • Represent the Society in forums, business transactions and any other transaction authorized by the Board of Directors
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements & relevant bodies.
  • Timely preparation and presentation of various progress reports to board of directors
  • Any other lawful duty that may be assigned by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • A Humanity related Masters degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
  • 7 – 10years practical experience in an NGO, Formal society, busy media house,state department or a busy intellectual institution of which 3 years must be in a management position
  • Basic knowledge in IT and financial accounting
  • Basic knowledge in digital marketing
  • Quantifiable knowledge in intellectual property industry
