Radiotherapist Job, Current Medical Jobs In Kenya,

Reporting to the Lead Radiotherapist, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out treatment on oncology patients in line with approved treatment plans, established protocols and the Hospital’s patient care objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
 Receive, identify and verify patient details to ensure that patient details correspond with the patient physically present for treatment.

 Confirm patients’ treatment plan in the system and the physical file to ensure accuracy and precision in treatment.

 Educate patients on applicable oncology instructions and guidelines related to treatment.

 Prepare the treatment room in line with requirements in the patients’ treatment plan.

 Prepare and position patients in the radiotherapy machine in line with the
simulation.

 Carry out shift movements in line with the treatment plan.

 Carry out a portal imaging with the radiotherapy machine to verify the treatment setup.

 Place markings on the patients’ treatment area or mobilizing devices to ensure accuracy during treatment.

 Reconfirm patients’ treatment parameters from the physical file and the system to ensure accuracy and precision.

 Administer radiotherapy treatment to patients in line with the treatment plan and ensure strict adherence to radiation safety guidelines.
 Liaise with the Medical Records Officer to schedule patients for subsequent
treatment sessions:

 Document daily treatment records in the radiotherapy file for review by the Chief Oncologist.

 Receive and record patients’ feedback on treatment side effects in the radiotherapy file to ensure effective management of the side effects; and

 Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
 Diploma in Radiotherapy or Radiation Technology from a recognized institution.

 Must be a registered member with the relevant registration body and hold a valid practicing license.

 Minimum of 3 years’ radiotherapy experience.
