Modern Lithographic Printing Machine Operator Job

Duties and Responsibilities

• Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specifications, colors and color consequences
• Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications
• Clean and lubricate printing machines and components using oil, solvents, brushes, rags and hoses
• Coordinate printing activities with activities of workers who set up, clean and feed machines
• Maintain records of goods produced, supplies used, production costs, and machine maintenance and repair activities
• Select and install printing plates, rollers, feed guides, dies, cylinders in machines according to specifications
• Pack and label finished products
• Input instructions in order to program automated machinery

Qualifications

• Relevant technical diploma preferably a diploma in Printing Technology
• Minimum 5-8 years experience as a machine operator or in a production role with experience handling machines
• Must be reliable, fast learner and keen to detail
• Knowledge of machine operation principles and basic maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols
